The governor recommends the erection of a state arsenal, for the reception of the quota of arms which belong to the State, Nothing has yet been done in the suit pending in the U S. Court between New-Jersey and New York, relative to territorial rights.
The state prison last year netted a profit of $5,000 exclusive of costs of transportation and officer's fees The governor thinks a new prison ought to be erected—the wretched provisions of the present rendering it rather a school for vice than a place for reclaiming the vicious.
Reference is made to the Camden and Amboy Rail Road, on the Delaware and Raritan Canal, both of which are progressing rapidly towards completion. Other works of public improvement are noticed with commendation, The governor recommends—that the legislature should, by some resolution, Commission the claims of the revolutionary worthies of that State upon the justice of Congress.—U.
