Chas. Henry was given a preliminary examination before Justice McAllister yesterday on two charges, one for horse theft, and one for theft over $20. In each case $500 bond was asked, in default of which he was remanded to jail. Henry had bought a bulldog pistol since his arrival in the city, and with a cap and ball pistol he had stolen from Mr. Watson, and a lot of ammunition, he was starting out of the city on horseback when arrested. No doubt he intended becoming a highwayman and Texas freebooter of the kind he used to read about in yellow back dime novels, up in Indiana.
