YMCA Does It Again
The Butler Street YMCA has just concluded its 1951 Membership Campaign with well over $22,500 cash in the till. And indications are that the goal of $25,000 will be reached before another week's end. That is the second year for the YMCA to raise so large a sum for Memberships only as the goal and selling incentive. It shows, therefore, that those in charge of the planning, as well as those who help to execute, know the details of financing and campaigning.
For that splendid achievement we congratulate the Board of Managers who helped to chart the goal and supply the manpower: W. H. (Chief) Aiken, who headed the campaign and gave vigorous leadership to the workers, and to C. T. Perkins for his organizational skill in enlisting the support and loyalty of citizens of varying personalities, and to the hordes of willing workers, who year after year, line up with the Y and give active support to its campaign and its work.
Without the vision and keen insight of Warren Cochrane to select and to gather around him men of superior worth and promise, this achievement no less than the broad program being executed in his absence from the city for a twelve-month span, this would have been altogether impossible. We congratulate him.
