Full Text

The New York Tariff Convention consists of five hundred and sixty-seven members—beating its Philadelphia predecessor, in the proportion of about 4 to 1. It is diligently engaged in preparatory business. Sundry committees have been appointed, to each of which is assigned a distinct subject of investigation; and we presume it will not be long before we shall be furnished with their several Reports. These shall receive from us such attention as the demands of other subjects on our columns will admit during the coming busy season of Messages, Documents and Debates.
