After dinner, the following toasts were drank :-
1. The Fourth of July 1776-May Americans never forget the memory of those heroes who have permitted us to celebrate it.
2. The President of the United States-- May his confidence in the virtue and patriotism of his fellow-citizens never be diminished. (9 cheers.)
3. The Constitution and Laws of the United States.
4. George Washington, the father and defender of his country.-When he again unsheathes his sword, let foreign foes and domestic traitors tremble. (9 cheers.)
5. James Marshall and Charles Pinckney. --May their virtuous and honorable endeavours to accomplish the objects of their mission to France, be ever held in grateful remembrance. (3 cheers.)
6. Palsied be the arm that would write " America shall pay tribute." (9 cheers)
7. Jonathan Dayton, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States.
8. Robert Goodloe Harper, and his patriotic Associates in both Houses of Congress—— the vanguard of the friends of our government. (3 cheers.)
9th. May the war hatchet never be buried but in the graves of the invaders of our country.
10th. Macpherson's Blues, and all the other volunteer corps of the United States. (3 cheers.)
11th. May the folly and tyranny of the present rulers of France soon become extinct.
12th. Our Ministers abroad-may disgrace and infamy ever be the lot of such as have been unmindful of their country's interests
13th. May punishment and detestation await those base Americans who have aided and assisted our enemies in depredating our commerce.
14th. The agricultural and commercial interests of our country-never to be separated.
15th. The American Navy--It shall protect the Honour of the American Flag.
16. Our Fair Country-women-May they disdain the youth who will refuse to resent his country's wrongs.
After the 11th toast, a respectful deputation was sent to Capt. Moore's company of Federal Grenadiers, who were dining in an adjoining building, to compliment them on the day, and offer them their good wishes.— On their return, the Grenadiers were toasted in a full bumper ; and soon after, a deputation from that corps returned the compliment, with whom it was so arranged, that, at the sound of the trumpet and the beat of the drum, the following toast was drank at the same moment, in the midst of acclamations the most ardent, and with a sensibility and affection beyond expression.—
17. Lieutenant General George Washington.
After the repast, which was temperate and moderate, becoming military Volunteers and Soldiers impressed with a proper sense of the dangers which threaten their country, the troop accompanied the Grenadiers in their march to the city , on entering which they joined the line formed by Macpherson's Blues and captain. Singer's Cavalry, and thence proceeded to their usual place of dismissal.
