Full Text
The Boston Post thus takes notice of the last coalition in New Hampshire:
The coalition in the first senatorial district of New Hampshire has been perfected. The proud, high-spirited, compromise and Union sustaining Whig friends of Mr. Webster in and about Portsmouth have held their convention, and nominated Moses A. Cartland, the candidate of the Abolitionists, for senator! Cartland is almost alongside of Garrison and Wendell Phillips! It is by such coalition as this that the Whigs intend to defeat the National Democrats of New Hampshire. Yet the Republic and Intelligencer, at Washington, and the Massachusetts Whig press will be silent, or else openly applaud their New Hampshire brethren.
Will the Republic and Intelligencer verify this prediction!
