Full Text
Mr. Purdie,
Understanding the country has ordered a number of wooden ones to be made, which the carpenters cannot supply them with for want of NAILS, and being informed there was a considerable number imported by the college for the purpose of building an addition to it; and as that design seems at present to be laid aside, I cannot see any reason why the Convention should not order those nails to be taken for the use of the army, more especially, as, I am credibly informed, one of the professors has taken two barrels for his own use (one of 4d. the other of 8d.) containing many thousands, and carried them to Gloucester, unknown to the president, who, when he comes to hear of it, I make no doubt will order them to be brought back, and not suffer the college to be plundered by one of its professors.
Please to insert the above intelligence in your paper, for the benefit of the country, and you will oblige your constant reader.

Main Argument
the convention should order the nails imported by the college for its building addition, now laid aside, to be taken for army use due to a shortage, especially since a professor has unauthorizedly taken some for himself.
