ST. LOUIS, May 5.--A meeting of Prohibitionists was held this afternoon, at three o'clock, at the office of ex-Gov. Chas. P. Johnson. The meeting was an adjourned one for the purpose of hearing the report of the committee of ten appointed at the last meeting to secure signers to the declaration of principles of the Prohibition Alliance. The committee will also report a place and time for holding the mass meeting in the city for the purpose of beginning a city branch of the Alliance. The mass meeting will be addressed by ex-Govs. Johnson and Brown and by Mr. Brooks and others, when the campaign will be formally opened. Mr. McMichael is in the city, and has visited Kansas City, Plattsburg, Liberty and other places. He attended the dedication of the temperance temple at Liberty and said that the meeting was largely attended, and was addressed by Dr. Brooks, Dr. Wallace and Rev. M. Plumb, of Hannibal. The annual convention of the Prohibition Alliance will be at Warrensburg, June 28, when delegates will be sent from every branch in the State; hence it is necessary that organization be accomplished as soon as possible.
