Ball Attracts Huge Crowd
CLEVELAND.
With the crowd that turned out overflowing from the hall, the ghosts and goblins didn't really scare anyone at the Halloween masquerade party of Local 45. Arrangements conducted by genial Jack Baskites, social committee chairman, were unsurpassed at any occasion since the victory ball held at the conclusion of the General Motors strike. Many were turned away at the doors and those who were lucky enough to gain admittance will have something to talk of for sometime.
Especially lucky was Carmino Cristina who carted home first prize in the grand drawing for $100. Winner of the second prize was Morris Bloom, who was rewarded with a console Radio.
John Baluneh got $50 for the third prize.
In addition there were many small prizes such as electric roaster, electric mixer, cash prizes ranging from $25 to $5.
Dancing was featured for the evening with Merle Jacobs wielding the baton for the boys and girls with the nimble feet.
Needless to say the bar was one of the most prominent features for many who thought they could sing and just as many who thought they couldn't.
Everyone reported a grand time and they want another party in the very near future.
