SACRAMENTO, Jan. 3.-(INS)--
A job expected to last his life time was assigned seven years ago to Alfred Jones, Los Angeles county surveyor.
The unending task consists of re-numbering residencies in unincorporated county areas.
Although the assignment is now considered more than half completed, necessity of going over past work indicates the job will never be entirely completed, Jones declares.
Confusion resulting from assignment of house numbers by utility concerns on installation of service several years ago caused the board of supervisors to order the county surveyor's office to undertake the task.
