Full Text

The Shenandoah Valley Master Plumbers and Heating Engineers Association and incidentally its moving spirit, Mr. L. H. Morgan of Berryville, has received much attention recently, being one of the groups in the southeastern part of the United States that has done good work, as witness the following letter from a Chicago trade publisher, referring to a talk with President Longley of the National Association:

Mr. L. H. Morgan

Berryville, Va.

Dear Mr. Morgan:

President Longley of the National Association remarked, a few weeks ago, to one of our representatives, that Association matters in the southeastern part of the United States have been given a great deal of attention and the developments there have been at a much quicker pace than in other parts of the country.

Among the Associations whom he mentioned as doing particularly constructive work, yours was named. We are interested in building a series of articles on Association activities and would be very glad to have you write us telling us just what activities your Association is indulging in and how it is benefiting your members.

We are particularly interested in any joint advertising you may be carrying on, any educational or propaganda work you may be conducting, what you are doing to help your members gather credit information, what efforts you are putting forth to gain new members, what steps are being taken in solving the apprenticeship situation, or in helping members secure trained mechanics, and in general any of the usual Association work which is being accomplished.

From what Mr. Longley said we judge that your experiences and achievements would be of interest to other association officers, and we want very much to pass this information on to the country at large. We shall therefore appreciate your co-operation in writing us informally what you have been able to accomplish, so that we may incorporate it in the series of articles which we plan

Very truly yours,

Lewis W. Britton
