Eight Fined For Not Paying Tax

Seven persons and one firm were fined $50 Wednesday in Municipal Judge Cyril Michael's court for failing to file gross receipts and excise tax reports.

The judge suspended the fines of Ulysses Pilgrim, Lillian Ostalaza, Alexander Salay, Gwendolyn Adams, Frederika Gray, Island Block Co., Luis Latalladi and Freeman Gumbs provided they pay all taxes due by July.

Also dismissed without prejudice was the case against Michael Beam for not filing gross receipt taxes. Should Beam return to the Virgin Islands, the case could be reopened.
