Speaking on "Christ and the World" at Union Baptist Church Sunday following Sunday School, the pastor Rev. H. Stone spoke [of the] world that is cursed by segregation, hypocrisy, class distinction issues, race hate, murder, discrimination, injustices and unequal opportunities on every side. [Men] need the gospel of Jesus Christ. We [are] to preach the gospel the Christ's way in dealing with men in the establishment of a righteous living order.
The story of the rise of any nation, race or people can be read upon the sand; their failure to walk with God. The fall of any nation, race of people can be seen upon the head of their selfishness and disregard for walking with God.
Fine services were held all day including a Xmas tree. The Rev. Laschereau Arnold, pastor [of] Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, commented at the night services. At 3 p.m. a program was held for the 5th District of the Sunday School Convention of Georgia in charge of Rev. S. M. Shortel, President. The principal address was delivered by Rev. J. G. Weldon. Rev. J. H. Gaines made remarks and Rev. T. Arnold offered prayer. Mrs. V. Ell presided and remarks were made by Rev. Stone and Rev. A. R. Noble and Dea. C. Brodnax. Music by Union Baptist Choir.
