PHILADELPHIA, OCT. 19.

Accident at the City Water Works.—On Wednesday of last week, the boiler of the high pressure engine at Fair Mount burst directly over the furnace, through which and the ash pit under it, the boiling water and steam were instantly discharged with great force into the boiler shed. R. Bingham, who attended the engine, and a person who had just stepped into the shed, were most severely injured. The former died on Saturday, and the recovery of the latter, who was removed to the Pennsylvania Hospital, is considered doubtful.
