Lynched.

CANTON, Miss., May 5.-Thursday night a negro entered the house of William Bledsoe and attempted a criminal assault on his fourteen-year-old daughter. He was identified as one Chambers, and was arrested and locked up. A meeting was called at the court house to determine what should be done with Chambers if he was found guilty. The motion was made that the chairman appoint a jury of twelve leading citizens to examine the negro. This was approved and the jury appointed. They examined the negro and found him guilty. Chambers was taken from jail to-day by number of citizens and hanged.
