It is understood that there is to be an effort among those who are interested in the anti-pass case which is being tested before Judge Charles M. Webb at Waushara, to have the arguments on the motion for suspension of judgment heard in Grand Rapids. At the term of court held in Waushara last week, Mr. Angelo, the attorney who caused himself to be arrested in order to try the case, was found guilty by the jury of attempting to, and in fact in succeeding in riding on a pass issued him by a railroad, being at the time state officer under the new law.
Judge Webb presided at this formality, and after the verdict of the jury was read, a motion was made by the defendant's attorneys, Park and Carpenter, of Stevens Point, asking for a suspension of judgment on the grounds of the law's being unconstitutional. The arguments are expected to take up a week or more, and will call forth the best efforts of the attorneys in the case, all of whom are ready to call in the opinion of brother attorneys on the matter. Because it will take so long those interested wish it to be tried at the judge's home town, Grand Rapids.
