Remarkable Case in Dentistry.

A remarkable case is reported in surgical dentistry, which if it were not well endorsed, would be unworthy of repetition. A magazine entitled "Good Health," of excellent reputation, copies from an English paper the statement that a member of the Odontological Society of that country had extracted a tooth from a gentleman, which had for some time been painfully affected by changes of temperature. After the performance of the operation, the decayed part of the tooth was scraped from the crown, the dental canal from which it was taken cleansed, and the tooth put back in its place, where, at the end of a fortnight, it renewed its duty as a healthy masticator. For three or four hours after the operation there was a dull aching pain, which, however, entirely ceased before noon of the following day, though some tenderness remained. The Boston Times, in giving credence to the report of this remarkable case, says that a well known dentist of that city has, in several instances, succeeded in the same operation.
