SHOCKING DISCLOSURES.-On Friday evening last, we witnessed a development of human depravity, the existence of which, in this city, we could scarcely have credited, had it come to us in any questionable shape.

On Friday evening, about dusk, a gentleman received an anonymous communication through the Post Office, purporting to be written by females, requesting him to use his influence in extricating them from a confinement and state of degradation of the most revolting character, in a house in this Alley, kept by a woman named Jane. The gentleman immediately consulted a few friends on the subject, and it was concluded to apply to one of the city officers. They went to the Guard House, and several other officers of the police, and before time to prepare for their removal on the lower floor in the act of striking, while on bench at evening males or of the what was there need around them. They called in a physician, examined, found and was unable, been me, to no protection ated and sent on their way mounted in this he they most at least the vessel, ideas were by with sailors and offering and the procured of the money to the last cent, paid into the hands of Jane, or his miss in there role a deposition to meet answer of every description witnessed upon them, and in free punishment was in hopes get still further details of the case in this bank of intent quit; defer for the particular to examine the discovery to them, in order to the mayor to get a stop to such intention.

The following are the names of the women, with such other particulars, taken from the oaths, dwell be their friends to take them away for their reformation, if these are any. Jane Smith, aged, of New York: has a mother and sister in Columbia Street, who are reputed. Hannah Babe, and she belongs to Philadelphia. Henrietta Hutchinson, aged 20, of Philadelphia; was once married to captain of a vessel. Liz Wilson, 17 years old last March, of Newburgh, New York. Sarah something aged of New York. Elizabeth Buckley, of New York. All the above females are freed, when separately examined, in their account of the treatment they received at the house of Jane, and stated that they would prefer remaining in jail rather than to return. It appears also, that the wife of Jane, started for New York about one week ago, for a new importation of females, who, on their arrival will probably experience the same treatment, unless measures are taken to prevent it. This creature, it is said, has even taken on with her dresses to decoy her victims. As an evidence of the pecuniary profit derived from this nefarious business, one of the girls stated that she had paid to Jane $18 since Monday week, and another $50 since the Sunday preceding; and we learn that from the proceeds of this flesh trade Jane has realized a sum of money sufficient to purchase considerable real estate. He said to be cool, systematic man, avoiding liquor in order that he may not have himself open by imprudent conduct to the justice that would follow every victim of any illegal act. Jane lately let a house at a Sunday on his name time. He need young which St. Philip Church water recognized. About that period this said the females were marched aided in the building undergoing similar treatment must to this above. We have now stated the facts of the case, as far as in our power; and strongly hope, for the honor and reputation of the city, that the law may be made to operate upon the authors of these enormities in such a manner as effectually to prevent their repetition,-Charleston Courier
