Full Text

Mammoth Strawberries.—We received Sunday evening, per steamer Fleetwood, from the garden of Mr. Elias Crandall, Scioto county, the finest specimen of strawberries we have ever seen. They are called the "Jucunda." They are much larger and sweeter than the other varieties. Fifteen of them filled a pint cup, and their average weight was full half an ounce. They are the first year's bearing, started from 25 plants set out a year ago, and the product, this year, will be two bushels or more. Our strawberry growers will have to get some of these plants, if they wish to keep up with the times.
