Work Stoppage Order
SAN FRANCISCO, June 12.- A work stoppage aboard all ships in major Pacific coast ports at 6 p. m. Thursday was called today by the joint strike committee of the CIO's committee for maritime unity to permit maritime workers to attend mass meetings in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland and San Pedro.

Meetings at Portland, Seattle and San Francisco will be held in the evening, that at San Pedro in the afternoon.

The meetings were called a little more than 2½ hours before the scheduled start of a nationwide shipping strike by CIO maritime unions beginning midnight Friday.
