LEAVES BREMEN FEBRUARY 10 Arrives Here on Washington's Birthday.
NAVAL FLEET AS ESCORT Fine Entertainment to Be Prepared for the Royal Guest and Party From Germany.
NEW YORK, Jan. 27.-The general committee for the reception and entertainment of Prince Henry of Prussia appointed by Mayor Low has informed the mayor that it will from now on relieve him of further responsibility in the preparations for the prince's entertainment.
The executive committee of the general committee held a meeting in the rooms of the Chamber of Commerce this afternoon. Subcommittees were appointed to look after the several features of the prince's reception and entertainment.
Other Names Added.
Mr. Morris K. Jesup, who presided, reported a communication he had from Mayor Low informing him that the mayor had added Capt. Alfred T. Mahan, United States Navy, retired; Commander R. P. Rodgers, United States Navy, and Emil L. Boas to the general committee. They were also added to the executive committee.
At the chairman's suggestion A. B. Hepburn and John I. Waterbury were added to the executive committee, and at the timely suggestion of former Mayor Charles A. Schieren, of Brooklyn, two representatives of the Lutheran Church Rev. Dr. Edward F. Goldenke was added to represent the German Lutheran Church in this city and the Rev. Dr. F. B. Remmensnyder to represent the English Lutheran Church.
Soldiers as Escort.
Lieut. Cornelius Vanderbilt called on Mayor Low at the city hall today and informed the mayor that he had been commissioned by the officers of the Twelfth Regiment to tender the services of the regiment as an escort to the mayor upon his reception of Prince Henry.
Here are the dates of Prince Henry's movements in connection with his visit so far as they have been unofficially made up:
February 10-Prince goes to Kiel to await departure for Bremen.
February 13-Imperial yacht Hohenzollern expected to reach New York.
February 14-Various members of the prince's party assemble at Bremen.
February 15-Prince and his suite sail for New York. United States squadron to meet the prince at Tompkinsville, S. I.
February 17-Rear Admiral Robley D. Evans hoists his pennant on the battleship Illinois.
Prince Reaches New York February 22-Arrival of the Kron Prinz Wilhelm in New York Harbor, escorted by squadron of United States men-of-war.
Prince calls upon Mayor Low and visits the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Special performance in prince's honor, Irving Place Theatre.
February 23-Drives to points of interest in New York City. Grant's tomb, etc.
February 24-Prince Henry goes to Washington to pay his respects to President Roosevelt. Dinner to the prince by the President.
February 25-Launch of the Kaiser's yacht, Townsend & Downey's shipyard, Shooter's Island, 10:30 a. m. Mayor Low's dinner to the prince at the Metropolitan Club. Gala night of opera.
February 26-Luncheon by reception committee of commerce and industries. Review of torchlight procession of the United German Societies at Arion Hall.
Dines With Editors. Banquet of the "Staats-Zeitung" to Prince Henry and the newspaper men of this country, Waldorf-Astoria.
February 27-Prince Henry goes to Washington to attend McKinley memorial services.
February 28-The prince starts for Cincinnati and Chattanooga.
March 2-Reception at Chattanooga.
March 9-Dinner of the New York German societies.
March 11-Prince Henry sails away from the United States.
To Put Programme In Shape.
The committee on arrangements for the reception of Prince Henry, of Prussia, in Washington will meet this morning and attempt to put the programme in shape that it may be publicly announced. Count von Quadt, secretary of the German Embassy, and Lieutenant Commander von Rebeur-Paschwitz, Naval Attache of the Embassy, will be present at the meeting to make suggestions on the part of the Prince.
Roosevelt to Witness Launching.
President Roosevelt has decided to attend the launching of the Kaiser's yacht, and he will be in New York on the night of the opera performance. The New York committee will therefore have to arrange for his presence. As the Chief Executive of the United States he ranks as a ruling sovereign, and consequently takes precedence of Prince Henry.
