The following census gives a comparative view of the population of the United States in the years 1791 and 1811, exhibiting an increase almost unparalleled in the history of nations. This vast accession of national strength, could only have arisen from the unexampled prosperity which has attended a republic founded upon the basis of civil & religious liberty, under which every sect & denomination has enjoyed a participation of equal rights; and firmly establishes the principle that no form of government is more happily adapted to the prosperity of a nation than that which seconds the laws of nature, by giving security to the rights of man.
