Offers Amendment to Reception
Expense Resolution.

Senator Metcalf, of Lawrence, to-day
had prepared an amendment to
the resolution introduced Tuesday in-
structing the senate ways and means
committee to draw a bill providing
for an appropriation to pay the ex-
penses of a Kansas delegation to wel-
come home the soldiers from this state
upon their landing.

The original resolution only pro-
vides for the welcoming of the mem-
bers of the 35th division and the Met-
calf resolution will include the 89th
and the members of the Kansas am-
munition train of the Rainbow divi-
sion.
