NEW REFUGIO OILER FLOWS

Valley Firm Gets Big Well in Texas.

Special to The Monitor.

MISSION, Mar. 12—Officials of the Double-D Oil company, Mission, active developer in the Sam Fordyce field of Hidalgo county and in other sections of the Valley, announced today the completion of a 3600-barrel per day oil well near Refugio.

The producer is Double-D Oil company's No. 2 Fannie Heard, and is making 150 barrels per hour through 3/16 inch tubing choke from sand at 4900 feet under pressures of 500 pounds on tubing, according to latest records.

Dan Tarbutton, McAllen, widely known Valley driller, served as drilling superintendent at the test. V. A. Gutschall was the principal driller. Officials of the company credited the two men with bringing in the excellent well.

The new producer is the first in its area to produce from the 4900-foot sand, according to reports here.
