One-Pound Baby
Fights For Life

TEMPLE, Texas, Aug. 4.—(AP)
Clinging to life by a slight margin, little Eva Nadine, one-pound daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Locke of Yarrelton, astounded physicians today as they watched the tiny infant in her unique living quarters—a small dresser drawer.
Almost rivalling the famous Dionne quintuplets in establishing medical history, the prematurely born infant has only meager chances of living, Dr. W. M. Brooks of Cameron, attending physician, said tonight.
Tiny though she is, Eva Nadine is well developed. Black-haired and active, she has a reasonably loud crying voice and attempts to put her tiny fist in her mouth.
She was born Thursday morning and has been fed with an eye-dropper as she squirms in her dresser drawer.
