CAMP CLOSES
The Prendergast Preventorium
Summer Camp of the Boston
Tuberculosis Association situated
at 1000 Harvard St., Mattapan,
closed on August 24 after six
weeks of educational activity
with musicals provided by the
cooperation of the American
Federation of Musicians' Union,
Local No. 9.
The Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals was repre-
sented by Miss Mildred Donnelly
of the Humane Educational So-
ciety Branch in several talks to
the children. Miss Phillips of the
New England Dairy and Food
Council gave a lecture on the
values of correct food bringing
with her a mechanical cow to
stress the value of milk. From
the Registrar of Motor Vehicles,
Mr. O'Connell lectured on traffic
accidents prevention.
No. M-1 Safety Surety car was
sent out by Thomas F. Sullivan,
Police Commissioner of the City
of Boston, and the Boston Public
Library was represented by Mr.
and Mrs. Cronin. The Variety
Club for Shut-ins presented
movies during the summer camp
period from time to time. The
