Lure of Alaska Hits Prisoner Of War Camp

SEATTLE, July 18.—The lure of Alaska as a land of promise has filtered into a prisoner of war camp in northwest France, the Alaska Steamship Company said today in telling of a letter from a German, Bodo Arndt.

"I would like to go north with my family to Alaska from Germany after being liberated as a prisoner of war," the letter said. "Can I get of you news and information over Alaska? Yours, Bodo Arndt." He added that his home was in Kronweik, Germany.

The steamship company sent word to Arndt it was mailing information on Alaska schedules and fares.
