Law Costs.—Bonnet a Post-R.
It appeared that the prosecutor had been some time in the life guards, but within these few months had retired from the same, and became a volunteer in the Westminster association; and that the defendant was an old acquaintance.
Mr. Alley, counsel for the prosecutor, stated, that the defendant called at the house of the prosecutor and solicited him, as his friend, and the friend of Democracy (of which he himself was a votary) "not to pull a trigger against his countrymen and associates;" that the prosecutor put his finger on the defendant's mouth to stop his babble, when by some accident it slipped in and the defendant almost bit it off.
This was supported by the testimony of the prosecutor and other witnesses, and being found guilty, the court sentenced him to be imprisoned in the house of correction for two months, and to pay a fine of five pounds.
[This wolf like trick is an exact emblem of the general conduct of the brutes of democracy all over the world. They howl and bellow against their opponents with the lungs of a Stentor and the fury of devils; and the moment you attempt to stop their mouth, by means however gentle, they turn on you with the ferocity of cannibals, they bite, they kill, and devour you, if they can.]

Event Details
The prosecutor, formerly in the Life Guards and recently a volunteer in the Westminster association, was solicited by the defendant, an old acquaintance and democrat, not to fire on countrymen. When the prosecutor placed a finger on the defendant's mouth to silence him, it slipped in and was nearly bitten off. Testimony supported the prosecutor's account, leading to the defendant's conviction.
