FATAL ACCIDENT.— A painful accident, resulting fatally, occurred in the east part of this town on Monday evening of last week. Mr. Allen R. Foote was driving his team with an empty wagon leisurely down the hill near Mr. H. Dow's, while his boy Willie, and Orson Stickney, about 7 years old, son of Mr. Foote. The only warning the driver of the other team had of the proximity of the other team was the shock he received by the concussion. He stopped at once, took up the mangled body and carried it into Mr. Dow's, where it was laid out before the parents, who were absent from home, returned. The heart-rending grief of the parents on learning of the sad occurrence can be better imagined than described. The last sad rites were performed on Wednesday, the services being conducted by Rev. Mr. Ludlum, of this place.
