ENGLISH BULLDOG MUST HAVE BRANDY BEFORE HE EATS
NEW YORK, June 26-(AP)—The latest prohibition problem is Bingo. Bingo is not to be confused with C. Bevo. It is not a soft drink, but an English bulldog, owned by William Y. Daly, of the Cunard lines.
On the way over from England this week, Bingo became seasick nothing helped until his master tried a nip of neat brandy. Bingo, not the master, taking the brandy. The cure was effective.
Since arriving in the United States however, Bingo has refused to eat without a nip of brandy for an appetizer, moreover the bulldog scornfully wrinkles up its nose at American-made substitutes.
Daly doesn't want Bingo to starve to death. It appears to be a case of the S. P. C. A. versus W. C. T. U.
