Mrs. Huck, Only Woman Elected to Congress In Tuesday's Voting Says Was Raised in "Game" Since Girlhood Days.

Chicago, Nov. 9.—Winnifred Mason Huck, only woman elected to congress at Tuesday's election, has been in politics since she attended grade school.
"I was always organizing something and getting a political scheme started," she said today in explaining the ease with which she carried out her campaign successfully.
"When I went to Western High school in Washington, D. C. twenty years ago, they used to call me a 'Politician' and the class prophet foretold I would enter politics. As far as I know I am the only one for whom a class prophet ever foretold the future correctly."
When Mrs. Huck was a young girl she was in a political atmosphere constantly. Her father, whose place in congress she won, used to take his family to Washington with him.
"I learned that the way to carry on a political campaign is to go direct to the voter," Mrs. Huck declares. "I made no promises and have no obligations, but I told the voters what I stood for, and asked them if they believed in those principles, to support me."
Mrs. Huck's husband is a successful Chicago attorney. She is the mother of four children who she will take to Washington with her.
"Politics should not break up a domestic life," she declared.
Mrs. Huck made one of the most strenuous political campaigns ever carried out by a candidate for congress.
Running for congressman at large, for whom the entire state votes, she made a thorough speaking tour reaching into nearly every county.
