The Baltimore American of Saturday, says, that a letter had been received in that city, from a Senator of the United States, stating that the British Minister at Washington, had been spoken to on the subject of the stop intended to be put to our intercourse with the North American colonies, by the Comptroller General of the customs at Halifax. The Minister disapproves of it, and has written to the Governor requesting him to obtain a suspension until the opinion of the British Government can be ascertained.
