Denied That Any of the Grand Forks Professors Oppose the ex-Governor.
Grand Forks special to the Evening Journal, 19th: The Journal's special from Hillsboro, yesterday, to the effect that the board of regents failed to elect ex-Governor Pierce president of the university of North Dakota owing to the opposition of three of the professors, was without foundation. In fact, the professors of the university, every citizen of Grand Forks and this entire section of the northwest, are enthusiastic over the prospect of securing ex-Governor Pierce to take charge of and guide the educational destinies of North Dakota. If ex-Governor Pierce will accept the presidency of the university he will be unanimously elected at the next meeting of the board, and would have been at the last meeting had it been possible under the call.
