The Clerk read a communication from property-holders on the corner of Franklin and Main streets, asking that some means be taken to prevent the stench arising from sewers in the vicinity. Filed.
The Clerk also read a communication from Mr. T. Molloy, for the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, in regard to a nuisance in Stark-alley, in view of their premises. On motion, the Clerk was directed to notify the parties interested to remove the nuisance.
The Clerk was directed to prepare and transmit to the City Council an ordinance to grade and pave the unpaved sidewalks on the north side of Front street, from Mill to west end of Gas Company's property. Also, to prepare and transmit to the City Council, authorizing the Commissioners of the North District to have cleaned out the sewer south of Henry-street, at a cost not to exceed $110.
Mr. Kiersted offered the following: "Resolved: That the Board of City Improvements be authorized to employ some suitable person to take charge of the lot in front of the City Buildings at a salary of $10 a month." Adopted.
On motion the Board adjourned.
