Full Text
Morrison married six months ago a young and handsome woman. Suspecting impropriety of conduct in her, he told her he would be absent sometime. She notified Hester, who subsequently called on her. Morrison, in the meantime, having watched their movements, sprang on them suddenly and found them in his chamber, both undressed. He drew a revolver and fired three or four shots, one of which took effect on Hester, the ball passing through his body, another through the arm and side of his wife, wounding her seriously. Morrison was committed. Hester being informed by his physician that he might not survive but a few minutes, made a statement to Capt. Goddard, that he had no criminal intention, and that he could fully account for being caught in the predicament.
