Full Text

DURHAM kicked and worked and begged until the union depot was erected and it is one of the best in the state. We are glad that we have it and it would be a great convenience if some of the smaller stations at which trains stop had some kind of accommodations. There are a number of stations along the roads at which they stop for passengers that are badly in need of a platform, not to mention a shed to keep the rain and wind off. Of course the business at these places would not justify the building of a depot, but if trains are to stop some arrangement ought to be made so that passengers will not have to step up from two to three feet in order to reach the first step on the train.
