Sunday last a flag returned from New-York which brought 20 Americans who had been a long time on board a prison ship. --About one thousand of our countrymen remain in the prison-ships at New-York, great part of whom have been under close confinement for more than six months, and in the most deplorable condition; many of them, seeing no prospect of a releasement, are entering into the British service, to elude the contagion with which those ships are fraught.
We learn that about 500 persons have died on board the different prison ships at New-York during the last five or six months, and that about 200 are now sick.
