Masons in Rock Hill.
Degree teams from Columbia Consistory, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons, were in Rock Hill during Wednesday and Thursday for the spring reunion for the benefit of York county Masons who wished to be advanced to the higher degrees of the fraternity. Although there are some forty York county Masons who have been elected for the Scottish Rite degrees, the class on which the degrees were conferred in Rock Hill from the 4th to the 32d, numbered but ten. However, this was considered a very satisfactory class by the Columbia brethren and also by York county Scottish Rite Masons who are interested in the work in York county. The degrees were exemplified in the class rooms and dining room of the St. John's Methodist church, the ladies of the church furnishing meals to the visitors from Columbia as well as to the candidates and visiting Masons. The Columbia Masons were under the leadership of C. C. Campbell, general secretary of Columbia Consistory. The following were among the candidates taking the degrees of the Rite: L. M. Louthian, Fred Beck, W. M. McConnell, J. S. Turner, J. C. Allen, W. B. Allison, B. W. Drennan, T. D. Black, C. K. Chreitzberg, L. D. Pitts, W. H. Hope, A. C. Johnson, J. B. Broadnax and S. Myerson.
