LIBERAL ARTS.

There is now every reason for believing that a building will be provided for the accommodation of the exhibits of the department of liberal arts and ethnology. At a meeting of the finance committee the budget was gone over with the idea of cutting in every possible manner so as to make it possible to secure funds for the proposed building without encroaching upon the limit of expenses defined when the debenture bonds were advertised.

"Light is breaking," said Vice President Peck after the meeting. "We all hope to see that building erected. We know that it is needed and if it is possible the funds will be provided. There is a limit to all things, however, and unless some cutting of expenses in other directions is done, the educators of the country must accept the space now allotted to them.
