Fratricide.—John Murdock, of Upper Canada, was committed to Brockville jail, on the 27th of last month, for the murder of his brother James. In his examination, he stated that he and his brother were in the woods, and while he (the prisoner) was in a stooping posture he was under the impression that his brother had raised the axe to strike him; believing this, he seized his axe, and struck his brother on the breast, which brought him to the ground, and he repeated the blows until assured he had effected his murderous design. He then dug a hole and buried the body, which was found by the sagacity of a faithful dog, which belonged to the deceased.
