Squire Steely says he has just one hundred and fifty miles yet to hoof it and then his school will come to a close for this term.
Prof. Bownersox paid West Beaver a business call last week.
Peter Riegle was seen at this end last week, looking up the insurance business.
Bro. Joc and Bro. Bill seem to have a dispute as to who is the most capable of running the engine for the new roller mill. Have patience, boys, and wait until the engine is set up.
Samuel Phillips answered an advertisement he read in the Herald concerning a medicine for making the hair grow on the bald heads. He is just out 12c. He claims all the satisfaction he has, he can rub the advertising on his head and cut his hair once a day.
I read in the Herald (Troxelville news) that Reuben Wagner and his son James have started a broom and basket factory in the suburb of Troxelville. There is no doubt but that they will give employment to all the idle men in and around the place. Eli Dunn of West Beaver would like the position as book-keeper, but would like to know if the books will have to be kept in the same shape the brooms and baskets will be.
Mrs. Levi Treaster is able to be out again.
Adam Baumgardner is on the sick list (grip).
