Today at 5 P. M. at St. Paul A. M. E. Church when the St. Cecilia Children's Choir observes its July Vesper Hour, it will present to the public one of the most unusual programs in the history of this vesper series.
Mrs. Irma S. Fields, of Savannah, Georgia, a Jeanes Supervisor, will deliver a special Vesper message. Mrs. Fields is ably fitted to perform this feat by virtue of her experience in work with young people and by virtue of her past training. She will be remembered by many as one of the sweetest singers to be heard in the State of Georgia, and yet she has relegated her singing career to that of a secondary role in order to go forward with the training of the youth of the state.
As a very special contribution to the community the St. Cecelia Choir will have as its honored guest the nationally known Gladys Knight, who will be one of the interested spectators at the program and who will be presented during the course of the Vesper Hour.
The choir will, as usual, furnish a delightful background of music to thrill the hearts of music lovers. But of special interest to all parents and those who are interested in young people will be the "Children's Bill of Rights" as especially arranged by the Director Earl A. Starling and introduced by the Choir. "Grandfather's Clock" will be rendered by the choir by special request of many of its regular patrons.
The public is urged to be present and on time since this service lasts only one hour.
MRS. IRMA S. FIELDS
