Full Text

SLIPPERY STREETS AND SIDEWALKS.

During the present slippery condition of the streets and walks, pedestrians should take unusual precaution in guarding against a fall, the usual result of which is a broken arm or leg. The short cut-off or trail leading from the brow of the hill near the Imperial works to Main street in the vicinity of the old granite mill, is a dangerous route to choose when entering Gold Hill from the north on a frosty morning. If a person once commences slipping in descending that steep declivity, he is quite sure to find himself laid out by the time he gets to the bottom, with the mortification of being laughed at by every one who happens to witness his downfall.
