Appointed To Labor Office In Switzerland

WASHINGTON, (ANP)- Alvin M. Rucker, 46, organization and methods examiner of the Bureau of Employment Security of the U. S. Department of Labor, has been given a year's appointment as an employment service expert and advisor to the International Labor office in Geneva, Switzerland. In this position, Mr. Rucker will assist in planning and initiating projects to promote migration within Europe and from Europe to other countries. The major objective of this special migration program of the International Labor office, which is financed by an appropriation from the European Recovery plan countries and the ECA, is to solve the problem of surplus European manpower. Prior to his present post in the Bureau of Employment Security, Rucker served as Territorial Representative of the U. S. Department of Labor in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. He has been previously with the headquarters of the U. S. Employment Service since 1940. Rucker is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has done advance work at the University of Chicago.
