3,200 COPIES OF NEW
PHONE BOOK ISSUED

More than 3,200 copies of the new 1935 issue of the Berryville, Boyce, Stephens City and Winchester telephone directory have just been distributed to the users of the telephones serving this vicinity this week, according to an announcement made by B. G. Gorham, manager of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia.

There has been a net gain of approximately 75 telephones in this area this year. Berryville is now served by 375 telephones, Boyce by 232, Stephens City 161, and Winchester by 2,409 telephones.

The front pages of the directory are devoted to general information on how to use the telephone and directory, explanations of various types of calls, and rates from Berryville, Boyce, Stephens City and Winchester to various out-of-town points.

Officials of the company suggest that subscribers look carefully through their old directories before discarding them. Many persons put bank books, leases, insurance policies, letters, birth certificates and even money in the directories and then forget them, it is said. Because of the many changes in directory listings it is urged that all old directories should either be turned in or destroyed when a new directory is published.

This directory also contains the listings of subscribers of the Whitacre Telephone Company, a connecting company.
