SUNDAY AT OAK CLIFF.

Thousands Visit the Beautiful and Picturesque Suburb.

Oak Cliff fairly divided honors with the fair grounds yesterday. A train of three coaches was run every hour during the day on the elevated railway, all of which were crowded, there being little if any falling off in the number of passengers till the last trip was made about night. At the same time, the principal thoroughfares (the grading of which is rapidly approaching completion) were thronged with buggies and carriages, many of which contained prominent citizens from different parts of the state and prospectors from abroad. It is almost useless to say that every one was delighted with the locality and astonished at the magnitude and substantial character of the improvements—for the fame of the Cliff has gone abroad in every direction, and visitors are simply amazed that this magnificent site has been so long overlooked. The crowds wandered over the romantic groves and heights in childish glee, admiring the grand views spread out before them, and discussing in animated tones their preferences as to the different locations for ideal homes. To-morrow, the great sale of lots will commence, and it is safe to predict that in less than a fortnight the music of the saw and hammer will answer the concerts of the feathered warblers in the forests and wake the echoes in the hills around, till a transformation is wrought which will be a source of wonder and admiration to all who behold it.
