The Lutheran Conference at Accident, on the 5th, 6th and 7th, was a success. Though most of the brethren were absent, yet we had one of the most delightful meetings. The questions, 1st, The relation of baptized children to the church, and 2d. Best method of developing the benevolence of the Church, were ably discussed, Bro. J. J. Young read a scholarly essay on "Evangelical Holiness vs. Perfect Holiness." The preaching and the discussions seemed to be timely and appropriate. The good people of Accident manifested a commendable interest in all the proceedings of Conference. Rain and mud did not frighten them nor keep them away from God's house. Bro. Young has reason to be proud of such dear people, and they have reason to be proud of such a dear and good pastor as Brother Young is. It is evident that the Lutheran Church in Accident is well managed. Our little Conference is doing a good work. It has been in existence now one year, and bids fair to grow into greater proportions and greater usefulness.
Rev. Cline was re-elected President. Rev. Lake Secretary, and Rev. Miller Treasurer. Conference adjourned on the 7th. Long shall we remember our visit to Accident.
J. W. LAKE,
Secretary.
