Denham Legion Has Service School

A child welfare and service school, sponsored by the Denham Legion Post, was held at the Denham schoolhouse Sunday afternoon.

Jack Hurley, Tenth District Child Welfare officer, was in charge of the meeting.

Among the speakers present were C. H. Alexander, superintendent of the Disabled Veterans Department; Ed Nelson of the Veterans Bureau; Mrs. Pete Henry, state Auxiliary Child Welfare chairwoman; Mrs. Lenda Stoops, president of the Tenth district auxiliary; Mrs. O. W. Barbo, district Child Welfare chairwoman, and Harry Norelius, Rehabilitation Service. The meeting was well attended and very instructive.

Lunch was served after the meeting by the local Auxiliary.

A .22 rifle, which the Legion boys gave away, was received by Henry Schoenman of Finlayson.
