Full Text

A New Orleans paper states that the ravages of the Crawfish, during the last high water in the Mississippi, have probably been more extensive than ever has been known in that country, in one season. In opening the Levees for the purpose of making repairs, the planters have found them perforated to an alarming extent, and the little enemy is found embedded in crowds. It becomes a question of great importance to the Farmers of that country, in what manner they are to be exterminated or excluded, defence against the waters being the first object with those who reside on the lower banks of the American Nile.
