THE EMOTIONAL FACE
I turned. Stared. There it was--its gray face turned toward me. Its eyes shifted-wide, frightened eyes that pierced your inner soul. I dared not move for fear I might frighten it into doing something dangerously unwise But yet, as I looked into that face, so eager for help. so tense with fright so serious with thought-I could not resist an impulse to go toward it. I moved inch by inch. It froze, froze in its tracks and then in one quick movement it was out of sight. Just one small incident in a life, just one small face so full of emotion, revealed the whole feelings of one little mouse.
